Why chose Natural Waxes?

Updated: Apr 26

I have been experimenting with candle making for many many years, and I choose to blend Pure soy wax with premium coconut wax at about a 70/30 ratio- Coconut/ Soy. Longer Lasting, Stronger Smelling.

Coconut wax is made from coconut oil and is also a renewable and biodegradable resource. coconut wax has a higher melting point than soy wax, which means that it burns slower and cooler. and has a creamer finish. Soy wax is added to my candles because it adds to the cold throw- that's When you open a jar to smell a candle, you’ll get a very good idea of how it smells like and it makes it easier to choose whether you want to buy it or not. I know the ratio I use for my Leo and Lula Candles, give you a great cold throw ( because of the soy wax) but when burning, the coconut soy is the joy, as it burns longer and burns cleaner.

The best of both worlds.

More facts about both Soy wax, Coconut Wax and Paraffin Wax.

Always burn a candle that is made form Natural Waxes

Both Soy & Coconut wax are 100% natural and derived from Soy beans that grow easily in many regions. This is in contrast to traditional paraffin wax which is made from petroleum, coal or oil shale. Our Soy wax is 100% Vegan and not tested on Animals.

Both waxes are Cleaner Burning

Zero toxins, carcinogens or pollutants mean that soy wax is less likely to trigger allergies. Soy wax is much healthier for us as it doesn't emit any nasties into our atmosphere unlike non-renewable parrafin waxes that can contain carcinogenic substances which are harmful to our bodies. Natural soy wax is a much safer way of indulging in a candle.

Coconut Wax Gives Off a Superior Scent

While a sustainable wax may make it worth dealing with substandard candles for some, the benefits of coconut wax doesn't stop there.  Coconut wax is able to retain a lot of fragrance in its wax, up to 12%, making it an excellent choice for both essential oils and perfume. In addition to keeping a lot of fragrance, coconut wax also has a great cold and hot effect.

Coconut wax also doesn’t disappoint when heated. It’s a superior option compared to any

other type of wax when we look at fragrance throw, and it can be utilised with essential oils that can often produce a faint odor in other types of candles.

Coconut Wax Allows for A Cleaner Burn

People don’t like soot, so a smoked candle is not a win-win feature. In addition, certain wax types like paraffin, for example, can lead to many health problems related to smoking.

It’s very common to see that coconut and other plant oils are blended in order to get the best of both worlds. These candles offer a higher melting point and a great scent.

Regarding burning properties, coconut wax burns cleaner and longer than soy and paraffin waxes. Its high melting point ensures a slow, even burn, reducing the likelihood of tunnelling. Soy wax also burns clean and has a longer burn time than paraffin, but it may be more susceptible to frosting or wet spots.
